On October 5, 2021 Hope and Healing Family Center stood in solidarity with NYC Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams and The Women's Caucus of the NYC council to call attention to black maternal health in New York City. Courtesy of The Women's Caucus, new bills were introduced that provided suggestions for overall improvement within black maternal disparities.

Throughout the city of New York, black women are 8 to 10 times more likely to die during childbirth. With these facts in mind, its important to call attention to these disparities and create policy that helps to combat this ongoing fight!
